Sharon Butler, Accounting Services consultant in our Frisco office, received a call from a young couple that had an opportunity to purchase a retail store where they were currently employed. Although her clients were excellent sales people, they had no knowledge of the basic bookkeeping and accounting functions that keep a healthy business running efficiently. Sharon organized the business aspects for the couple and set up monthly and quarterly schedules for financial statements and payroll; and set up appropriate software systems. Sharon placed them on monthly reporting systems and tax schedules to avoid penalties for late or nonpayment of taxes. As their business prospered, the couple was offered an opportunity to buy the building; so Sharon organized the books and financial statements for the mortgage company for a successful purchase. From starting with no employees, the couple now employs four salespeople, for which Sharon provides payroll reports and a quick, 1-2 day payroll turnaround.
