Carolyn M. Romero, CPA, CVA
Carolyn is the Firm’s Director of Governmental Contractor Services
and the lead audit partner for GHB’s governmental contracting
and Sarbanes-Oxley practice.
She has specialized experience in audit and accounting matters for a variety of industries including governmental contractors, construction, software development, manufacturing, nonprofit organizations, retirement and benefit plans, law firms and retail sales.
Carolyn has practiced accounting from both sides of the desk, serving as a controller of a national advertising company early in her career. She understands how important providing practical effective solutions are to a growing company. Carolyn works closely with her clients to develop cost effective alternatives that meet the increasing challenges of federal and state reporting requirements, and which continue to improve profitability.
Background
Prior to joining GHB as an audit partner, Carolyn was Director of Audit and Accounting Services for a local public accounting firm in Denver specializing in governmental contractors and nonprofit organizations. She also performed business valuations and lost profit analyses for mergers, marital dissolutions and insurance claims. Carolyn was also previously an audit manager for Deloitte & Touche, LLP, working with high growth companies.
