Background

Michele originally joined Gordon, Hughes & Banks, LLP as a member of the audit department.  However, her broad experience in business and in academia gives Michele a unique perspective and skill set that lend strength and credibility to her role as the firm's Learning Director.  In this capacity, Michele is responsible for planning and implementing GHB's "soft skills" learning curriculum in areas such as business development, firm management, client service, supervision and personal development.  Additionally, she successfully implemented GHB’s technology training program, enabling staff to improve their skills at using various software applications.  Michele also helps coordinate the audit and tax technical courses.

Michele has significant experience in developing, preparing and implementing a variety of educational programs.  She spent four years as a full time college instructor, worked for a software manufacturer providing on-site technical support and training seminars across the country, and also teaches many of GHB’s in-house courses.

Michele’s public accounting experience includes conducting financial and performance audits, specializing in local government entities and nonprofit organizations.  Prior to her public accounting career, Michele spent over twenty years in the business sector working for organizations in various capacities including controller, personnel management, and marketing.

Michele is now taking our professional development program to a new level by offering quality learning experiences to our clients and contacts in the business community, governmental and nonprofit sectors. This program currently focuses on a series of “soft skills” and leadership topics.

Michele is also currently completing the requirements to earn an Accredited Mindshop Facilitator (AMSF) designation. Mindshop tools and processes help facilitate the delivery of performance improvement, designed to help organizations achieve growth and profitability. Michele’s focus in this area will be in the area of learning and professional development.
